She was in her fifties when she took them in;
After raising her own she agreed to do it again.

A 5 and a 7 year old whose hearts had been broken;
From that moment on had her complete love and devotion.

Yes, she was willing to give up her quiet, empt nest;
They didn't know at the time to what extent they were blessed.

You see God had a plan to break the cycle of pain and addiction;
And she lived her whole life for Him, in honor and full submission.

She wasn't young, she wasn't cool, she had a seventh grade education;
But her Godly wisdom surpassed all and she was filled with determination.

She took them to church every time the doors were open;
Put a Bible in their hands and taught them what it meant to be chosen.

They often heard her pray and sing, "Peace Peace Wonderful Peace,"
Laughing in the Spirit as His power was released.

They didn't understand until they were older and more aware;
That day they arrived on her doorstep, Jesus was there.

You see, satan had a plan to steal, kill, and destroy;
But the love of Jesus in her put an end to his ploy.

She is no longer with us, my brother and me;
She is in heaven with her Father, where she always longed to be.

She left a legacy that supersedes any inventor, superstar, or award;
Our precious MamMaw left behind two children who love and serve the Lord.
